Class 4A No. 13 Independence swept Clear Creek Amana 25-22, 25-20, 25-20 in a WAMAC Conference match on Tuesday in Independence.

Independence improved to 11-2 with the win while Clear Creek Amana fell to 8-7 on the season.

Lauren Helle led Clear Creek Amana with 11 kills while Shauntina Williams added nine kills and four ace serves and Claire Schwarting had five kills.

Zoey Boehme had 16 assists and Riley Hennes had 11 assists for the Clippers while Sheyanne Koethe had 20 digs.

Clippers goe 1-4 at West High Tournament

Clear Creek Amana went 1-4 at the Caroline Found Tournament on Saturday at West High.

The Clippers dropped to 8-6 on the season with its 1-4 showing on Saturday that featured a pair of losses to ranked opponents.

Clear Creek Amana defeated Cedar Rapids Washington (25-19, 25-17) and fell to Class 4A No. 5 Dubuque Wahlert (18-21, 21-6, 15-9), 5A No. 11 West Des Moines Dowling (21-11, 21-23, 15-9), Mediapolis (22-20, 21-16) and Pella Christian (25-13, 25-16).

In the loss to Dubuque Wahlert Shauntina Williams had six kills and Lauren Helle added four kills while Sheyanne Koethe had three ace serves.

Against West Des Moines Dowling, Williams had six kills, Koethe had 15 digs and Zoey Boehme had nine assists.

Helle had six kills and McKenzie Justice had three in the loss to Mediapolis while Boehme had 10 assists.

In the win over Cedar Rapids Washington, Justice had seven kills while Amelia Pereira added five kills and Helle had three blocks.

Riley Hennes had 11 assists in the win.
