South Tama Rallies Past Clear Creek Amana

Clear Creek Amana took a lead into the fourth quarter but couldn’t hang on in a 58-49 loss to South Tama on Monday in Tama.

The Clippers led 42-40 entering the final quarter but South Tama (5-2) outscored Clear Creek Amana 18-7 in the final eight minutes while improving to 3-1 in WAMAC west division play.

Tyler Hallett had 14 points and Tate Thomsen had 13 points to lead Clear Creek Amana.

Camden Armstrong added eight points and Nolan Schwarting chipped in with three as Clear Creek Amana dropped to 0-4 in WAMAC west division games.

Clayton Rosenberg had a game-high 20 points to pace South Tama.

Murphy Leads Clippers at North Linn Invitational

Quinn Murphy placed third at 138 pounds to lead Clear Creek Amana at the North Linn Lynx Invitational on Saturday in Troy Mills.

Murphy went 3-1 on Saturday to improve to 16-4 on the season dropping his only match in sudden victory to eventual 138-pound champion Jake Recker of Dyersville Beckman.

Clear Creek Amana finished 10th in the team standings with 64.5 points as Andrew Rohret added a fourth place finish at 145 pounds and Tanner Cochran was fifth at 182.

Clear Creek Amana dropped a pair of duals at a WAMAC triangular on Thursday at Marion.

The Clippers fell to Marion 48-33 and dropped a 38-37 contest to South Tama.

Tanner Cochran and Ethan Taylor both went 2-0 for Clear Creek Amana with Taylor picking up a pair of pins at 285 pounds.

Clear Creek Amana got off to a solid start but couldn’t keep pace with Vinton-Shellsburg in a 73-38 loss in a WAMC west division contest Tuesday in Tiffin.

Tate Thomsen led Clear Creek Amana with 13 points as the Clippers dropped to 1-5 on the season.

Nolan Schwarting had six points and Camden Armstrong five for the Clippers.

Vinton-Shellsburg improved to 3-2 with its third straight win.

White Claims Title at North Cedar Invitational

Cole White won an individual title to help Clear Creek Amana to a fourth place finish at the North Cedar Invitational on Saturday in Stanwood.

White claimed the 220 pound championship on Saturday as Clear Creek Amana finished with 129 points.

Camanche won the team title with 182 points while New London was second with 157 and North Linn was third with 147.

White pinned his way through the 220 pound bracket, recording three straight wins by fall on his way to the individual championship.

White pinned Hunter Foubert of Montezua in 1:11 in the championship match to improve to 9-4 on the season.

Samual Stevens (106), Jordan Delaney (132) and Andrew Rohret (145) all earned runner-up finishes for the Clippers.

Quinn Murphy added a third place finish at 138 and Alex Floryanovich was third at 113 pounds.

Hallett notches Double-double but Clippers Fall at West Delaware

West Delaware broke open a close game at the half with a strong third quarter on its way to a 67-49 win over Clear Creek Amana in a WAMAC conference cross divisional matchup on Friday in Manchester.

Clear Creek Amana trailed 35-27 at the half but was outscored 16-5 in the third quarter while falling to 0-2 on the season

Tyler Hallett posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Tate Thomsen had 12 points and five boards for the Clippers.

Tyler Schrepfer added eight points for Clear Creek Amana.

Derek Korgmann had a game-high 19 points and Tyler Kelley added 16 to pace West Delaware (2-0).

Clear Creek Amana roared to a 16-3 lead and held on for a 45-33 win over West Delaware in a WAMAC cross-divisional matchup on Friday in Tiffin.

Freshman Karsyn Stratton had 16 points and Claire Navara added 14 as Clear Creek Amana improved to 2-1 on the season.

Stratton hit 6-of-7 free throws in the win and Navara made two 3-pointers as the Clippers bounced back from a loss at Western Dubuque on Tuesday.

West Delaware dropped to 1-3 with the loss.

Clippers Fall at Western Dubuque

Clear Creek Amana fell to Class 4A No. 14 Western Dubuque 57-36 on Tuesday in a WAMAC cross-divisional matchup in Epworth.

Abbi Kinnaird and freshmen Karsyn Stratton and Meagan Harvey all had seven points to pace the Clippers.

Clear Creek Amana dropped to 1-1 with the loss and will host West Delaware on Friday.

Clippers go 2-1 in WAMAC Tournament Consolation Bracket

Clear Creek Amana went 2-1 on Thursday in the consolation bracket of the WAMAC tournament at Mount Vernon.

The Clippers defeated South Tama (25-22, 25-16) and Benton Community (25-15, 25-22) before falling to Williamsburg 25-21, 25-21 in the consolation final.

Against South Tama, Shauntina Williams had seven kills while Lauren Helle had six kills to pace the Clippers.

Riley Hennes had five ace serves and Helle had three blocks for Clear Creek Amana while Sheyanne Koethe had 11 digs.

In the win over Benton Community, Williams had 15 kills and Helle added seven.

Cheyenne Bunch had 15 assists and Riley Hennes had 14 assists in the win while Koethe had 12 digs.

Helle had four blocks and Schwarting had three in the win.

In the loss to Williamsburg, Williams had seven kills and Lauren Helle had six kills.

Hennes and Bunch both had nine assists and Koethe had 17 digs.

Clear Creek Amana is now 21-19 on the season and hosts Western Dubuque in a 4A regional game next week.

Clippers go 1-2 in WAMAC Pool Play

Clear Creek Amana went 1-2 in the pool play portion of the WAMAC Conference Tournament on Tuesday at Central DeWitt High School.

The Clippers dropped to 19-18 on the season with the 1-2 performance on Tuesday.

Clear Creek Amana defeated Central DeWitt 21-12, 21-18 on Tuesday and fell to Class 4A No. 11 Indpendence 21-15, 21-18 and Western Dubuque 17-21, 21-15, 15-7.

In the win over Central DeWitt Amelia Pereira and Jane Willms each had four kills while Shauntina Williams and Mckenzie Justice both had three kills. Sheyanne Koethe had 19 digs in the win over the Sabers.

Against Independence, Williams led the Clippers with eight kills and Koethe had 18 digs.

In the loss to Western Dubuque Williams had eight kills and Koethe had 13 digs.

Clear Creek Amana Goes 3-2 at Home Tournament

After dropping six of its last seven matches including a disappointing five-set loss to Williamsburg on Thursday the Clear Creek Amana volleyball team needed a win.

The Clippers got three of them on Saturday.

Clear Creek Amana went 3-2 at its own Invitational on Saturday in Tiffin defeating Mid-Prairie (21-15, 21-19), Central DeWitt (21-9, 18-21, 15-12) and Iowa Valley (21-17, 17-21, 15-9).

The Clippers improved to 18-16 with their 3-2 performance on Saturday that included losses to North Scott and Class 3A No. 4 Union.

Lauren Helle had seven kills and Shauntina Williams and McKenzie Justice both had five kills in a 21-15, 21-19 win over Mid-Prairie

Cheyeanne Bunch had 17 assists in the win over the Golden Hawks and Sheyanne Koethe had 13​ digs.

Against Central DeWitt, Helle had 12 kills, Justice had eight and Williams added six while Bunch had 21 assists and Koethe had 14 digs​.

In the win over Iowa Valley Williams had 17 kills, Helle had 10 kills and Justice had 7 kills. Bunch had 20 assists, Riley Hennes had 14 assists and Sheyanne Koethe had 18 digs.

North Scott handed Clear Creek Amana a 21-9, 23-21 loss. Williams had 5 kills and Koethe had 12 digs​ in the loss.

Clippers Finished Second at IMS Invite

The Clear Creek Amana boys cross country team placed second at the IMS Invitational on Monday at the Wellman Golf Course.

Clear Creek Amana placed three runners in the top ten on its way to a runner-up finish behind team champion Mid-Prairie.

Mid-Prairie won the team title with 28 points followed by Clear Creek Amana with 62 and Williamsburg with 72.

Solon placed fourth with 142 points.

Cole Liebe led Clear Creek Amana with a fifth place finish in a time of 17:34.61 while teammate Wyatt Sedlacek was sixth in 17:42.34.

Ben Oxley added a top-10 finish, placing 10th in a time of 18:13.21.

Jorel Justus finished seventh in 17:46.43 to lead Solon.

Clippers Fall to Third-Ranked Marion

Clear Creek Amana got off to the start it wanted on Tuesday against Class 4A third-ranked Marion.

The Clippers couldn’t quite hold on long enough to get the finish they were hoping for.

Clear Creek Amana took the opening set but dropped the next three in a 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-16 loss to the Indians in a WAMAC West Division meeting in Tiffin.

Marion improved to 17-5 with the win while Clear Creek Amana had five-match winning streak snapped and dropped to 14-9 on the season.

Shauntina Williams led Clear Creek Amana with 11 kills on Tuesday while Lauren Helle added 10 kills and McKenzie Justice had seven kills.

Riley Hennes had 18 assists, 11 digs and five ace serves and Zoey Boehme chipped in with13 assists.

Sheyanne Koethe collected a team-high 24 digs and McKenna McCreedy had 11 digs.

Barker Places Fifth at CCA Invite

Kaylie Barker placed fifth to help Clear Creek Amana finish third at its own invitational on Monday at the Kicker Soccer Fields in Iowa City.

Barker finished in a time of 21:28.97 to lead Clear Creek Amana which finished third with 75 points.

Clear Creek Amana had lost six of its last eight games entering play at the Dunkerton tournament.

The Clippers righted the ship on Saturday.

Clear Creek Amana dropped just one set on its way to a 5-0 showing and a first place finish at the Dunkerton tournament.

The Clippers swept West Hancock, Waterloo Christian, Turkey Valley and Van Buren and rallied for a 12-21, 21-15, 15-8 win over host Dunkerton to win the tournament.

Clear Creek Amana improved to 14-8 on the season with its 5-0 performance.

Shauntina Williams had six kills and four aces serves and Zoey Boehme had eight assists in a 21-4, 21-11 win over West Hancock.

In the three-set victory over Dunkerton, Williams had nine kills and Sheyanne Koethe collected 26 digs.

Lauren Helle had three blocks against Dunkerton while Boehme had 14 assists.

Helle had six kills in a 21-7, 21-8 win over Waterloo Christian while Boehme had six assists and Riley Hennes had five.

In a 21-10, 21-10 win over Turkey Valley.

Williams had 10 kills and Helle had 8 kills while Hennes had 11 assists and Boehme had 10 assists.
Koethe had 15 digs in the win over Turkey Valley while Helle and Claire Schwarting each had two ace blocks.

Williams and Helle each had seven kills in a 21-14, 21-8 win over Van Buren.

Boehme had 11 assists and Hennes had 3 ace serves against Van Buren.

Clear Creek Amana Picks Up WAMAC Road Win

Shauntina Williams had 16 kills and Lauren Helle added 10 to lead Clear Creek Amana to a 25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22 win over Vinton-Shellsburg in a WAMAC West Division match on Thursday in Vinton.

Clear Creek Amana improved to 9-7 on the season with the win while Vinton-Shellsburg dropped to 7-12.

Zoey Boehme had 11 assists and Sheyanne Koethe had 34 digs for Clear Creek Amana as the Clippers improved to 3-0 against West Division opponents.

Riley Hennes had 11 assists and three ace serves and McKenzie Justice added three ace serves for the Clippers.

Barker Finishes 10th at Oskaloosa Invite

Kaylie Barker led Clear Creek Amana with a 10th place finish at the Oskaloosa Invite on Tuesday.

Barker finished 10th in a time of 22:43.3 to help Clear Creek Amana to an eighth place team finish with 215 points.

Ottumwa won the team title with 61 points while Williamsburg was second with 70 and Fairfield was third with 80.

Jordan Winke of Albia won the individual title in 20:08.
